Kim Kardashian is getting closer and closer to her walk down the aisle and to exchanging vows with Kris Humphries in a wedding thought to be sometime this summer. Besides her sizeable and sparkling engagement ring, all buzz has been directed to the Dress, yes, with a capital D.

What would the entrepreneurial fashionista and Keeping Up with the Kardashians star wear, and, more importantly, which designer would she select? Just as Kate Middleton's dress inspired plenty of talk and trends, so too has and will Kim's, although to a more minor extent. After all, one could call Kim Kardashian a breed of Hollywood royalty.
Vera Wang, of course, is the answer to the designer question for Kim Kardashian's dress--a name and a woman synonymous with weddings and many celebrity gowns at that. But, the actual design of the gown has remained under wraps.
However, OK! magazine did manage to uncover more details about the confection and the new issue even claims to have a "first look" in its pages. (Doubtful, though, as it's probably just a sketch or a conglomeration of gowns that could resemble Kardashian's.)
Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian recently paid a visit to the Vera Wang boutique with a few friends, where she tried on myriad styles and shapes. "She wants it to be a little bit of high fashion, but also timeless, classic and classy. It will be ivory, and most of the detailing will just be stitchwork or beading," said a pal close to the bride-to-be.
Kim is also apparently taking inspiration from Old Hollywood and some of her favorite "famous" gowns, especially that of Christina Aguilera when she tied the knot with Jordan Bratman. The pop star wore a truly over-the-top, Spanish-style Christian Lacroix creation that sizzled with a cascading train.
While Aguilera's dress definitely fits the extravagance factor that Kim will no doubt embrace, it registers a bit overbearing and fussy with too much frou-frou for Kim. She would do better in a more chic, simple mermaid silhouette that accents her curves without overwhelming her shorter frame.
Kim Kardashian is making certain she gets what she wants, too. A friend jokingly revealed, "Kim is being super hands-on, and she's making all the decisions so there's no room for any of us to screw up her big day. But she's being open-minded to what Vera Wang and her family has to say."
Not to mention, Kim is also paying close attention to what her trainer has to say, as she's reportedly trying to drop a few pounds so she can look as svelte as ever on her special day and in that top-secret gown.
